Many of the safetyand rescue techniques described in White Water Safety & Rescue and on this site are intended for use in specific circumstances, and may be hazardous if applied inappropriately by unskilled or insufficiently trained paddlers. The onus is on the reader to aply the techniques described appropriately and correctly. These techniques are best learned and practiced under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
